Irony Destroyed is a Kenyan metalcore band pushing the boundaries of heavy music in East Africa, built on crushing riffs, raw emotion, and an unapologetic drive to push heavy music forward.

Formed in 2015 and led by guitarist Lenny Kiano, the band began performing and releasing music in 2016, quickly establishing their presence within Kenya’s heavy music scene. Their debut EP arrived in 2017, followed by a run of singles between 2018 and 2021, culminating in their full-length album in 2022.

Over the years, Irony Destroyed has weathered lineup changes, challenges, and the realities of keeping a band alive, but the music has never stopped. That resilience has become part of the band’s identity. Their sound is aggressive yet deliberate, combining crushing guitar work, punishing breakdowns, dynamic melodies, and moments of raw vulnerability.

Lyrically, Irony Destroyed explores existentialism, philosophy, overcoming adversity, life’s struggles, and the confrontation of injustice. Their music is both an outlet and a statement, turning frustration, introspection, and intensity into something loud, visceral, and unapologetically human.

Today, Irony Destroyed features Douglas Kihoro on vocals, Issa Khalid on guitar, Lenny Kiano on lead guitar, John Kiarie on bass, and Cyrus Kamau on drums. Together, they continue to evolve their sound while staying rooted in the heaviness that defines them.
